Heaviest strawberry
The heaviest strawberry in the world, which measures 289 g (10.19 oz), is more than 20 times heavier than a typical garden strawberry. In 2021, it was raised by Chahi Ariel (Isʀᴀᴇʟ). The best strawberry is an Ilan cultivar, which is renowned for its great fruit yield. The record-breaking strawberry was created when several smaller ones fused together to produce a single enormous strawberry. The previous record was 250 g (8.82 oz), set in 2015 by Koji Nakao of Jᴀᴘᴀɴ.
Heaviest eggplant/aubergine
The girthy eggplant that won the title of “heaviest in history” at the 2021 CANNA UK National Giant Vegetables Championships originated in Peter Glazebrook’s (UK) garden. It weighed 60 g (3 oz) more than the previous record holder, or 3.12 kg (6 lb 14 oz). You might be sʜᴏᴄᴋed to see that eggplants are included on this list because they grow from a flowering plant, have seeds, and are considered to be a fruit.
In addition to being a fruit, eggplants fall under the botanical category of berries, but strawberries and raspberries do not. This is due to the fact that eggplants match the requirements for having a single flower with one ovary, a delicate outer skin, and a fleshy centre that contains the seeds.
Heaviest ᴍᴀɴgo
This smooth ᴍᴀɴgo, which was cultivated in Guyatá, Cᴏʟᴏᴍʙɪᴀ, by farmers Reina Maria Marroqun and Germán Orlando Novoa Barrera, was heavier than the typical Nᴇᴡʙᴏʀɴꜱchild. Its weight of 4.25 kg (9.36 lb) in July 2020 broke the previous record of 3.43 kg (7.57 lb) held for more than 10 years by a ᴍᴀɴgo discovered in the Pʜɪʟɪᴘᴘɪɴᴇs. A typical ᴍᴀɴgo weighs between 150 and 200 g. (5 – 7 oz).
Heaviest watermelon
Chris Kent (USA) is a huge fan of melons. Chris first broke the record for the heaviest watermelon in the world in 2010, and then in 2013, he grew an even bigger one to establish a record that is still in effect today. The heavy watermelon was 19.2 kg (42.5 lbs) heavier than the previous record and was about 15 times heavier than an ordinary one at 159 kg (350.5 lb).
Chris used his own seeds, a hybrid between the 291 Kent and the 274 Kent, to grow the watermelon. These record-breaking seeds can sell for a lot of money; little packets of just three or four can cost up to $40.
Heaviest pumpkin
That record is held by the Atlantic big pumpkin, an orange fruit of the North American native squash Cucurbita maxima that is frequently mistaken for a vegetable. Stefano Cutrupi (Iᴛᴀʟʏ) raised the heaviest pumpkin in history, weighing 1,226 kg (2,702 lb 13.9 oz), in 2021. That is approximately twice as heavy as the heaviest ᴍᴀɴ to ever exist and heavier than a Nissan Micra automobile.
Stefano’s pumpkin weighed nearly 100 times more than a normal one, in contrast to the previous record-breaking fruits we’ve covered, which were between 10 and 20 times heavier. The larges pumpkin ever measured in a competition measured 3.56 m (11 ft 8 in) in breadth and 5.42 m (17 ft 9 in) in diameter.
