The machine produces aggressive feeds and speeds for all cutting applications, from heavy-duty to high-speed, thanks to the guides’ low-friction, high-rigidity designs.
With its single-table design that includes a high-rigidity bed, solid base X-axis construction, and roller gear cam systems for the A and C axes, the HCR-5000S delivers unsurpassed precision. The machine’s tilt/rotary table, which is incredibly accurate, offers fast traverse rates of 50 rpm on its C axis and 30 rpm on its A axis. Depending on the cutting orientation, the table can accommodate items that weigh up to 500 kg, measure up to 700 mm in diameter, and stand 644 mm tall. It can also position in 0.0001-degree increments.
The tilt of the table, in conjunction with a chip conveyor and flood coolant, guarantees effective chip ᴍᴀɴagement and evacuation in addition to complete 5-axis machining capacity. The horizontal spindle orientation also enables inverted component machining to further improve chip flow, and a typical 800 L coolant tank can support a Niagara coolant setup. The machine can be equipped with a Mazak Multi-Pallet Pool (MPP) system, an automatic two-pallet changer, or be integrated into a fully automated Mazak PALLETECH System for even higher productivity and unᴍᴀɴned operation.
Operators can fully ᴍᴀɴage the HCR-5000S thanks to Mazak’s MAZATROL SmoothX CNC. SmoothX, the most capable and potent control in the market, supports 3-D component program visualizations on its touch screen to greatly simplify programming and program checking. Thanks to the control’s SMOOTH Machining Configuration choices, including Seamless Corner Control, Active Vibration Control, and Variable Acceleration, cycle durations are decreased by 10% to 20% while surface finish is increased.
