Heavy Haulage of Giant Tank Gone Wrong!

Machine

From the beginning, the difficult transport of two CO2 gas tanks to Dörpen from the Barlage firm in Haselünne was doomed to fail. Trees in the city of Sögel that had been cut in half initially drew attention to the transit. After passing this location, the first gas tank later overturned and landed on the field ᴄʟᴏsᴇ to the road. Thankfully, no one was harmed.

Originally beginning on February 24, 2020, the shipment of the two gas tanks could not be finished until March 29 due to the salvage.

The video of this transport is almost as disastrous as the actual journey. The two most intriguing parts are ᴍɪssɪɴɢ: – how the tank falls (it might be difficult to catch, to be fair); – how the tank was put back (no excuse for this one).

This is a video from Gᴇʀᴍᴀɴʏ of a large metal gas tank being carried when it rolls off the trailer that is towing it, proving that no matter how carefully you plan, Murphy always finds a way. The tie-down straps were obviously ineffective. One Redditor who claims to know the entire story says:

It was the second attempt at transporting a gas tank. They had to clear trees along the route to make room for the large convoy to pass, so the first was postponed. They had to find another path because the bulk of the locals opposed it.

After the ᴀᴄᴄɪᴅᴇɴᴛ, the cleanup took ETA days. The transport firm is a Dutch company, and the transport took place in Gᴇʀᴍᴀɴʏ. It was their first major mishap in more than a century of operating as a transportation firm.
