For two years, I worked as a flight attendant for a well-known airline, and I still long for those times. In 2019, when I first submitted my application, I had little industry knowledge. Simply put, the thought of continual travel and a lovely uniform excited me.
I had no idea how many perks the job offered or what I would miss most if I ʟᴏsᴛ it.
My airline gave free flights to flight attendants, and I received free or heavily discounted tickets from alliance partners. In order to benefit, I may also name my family, which consists of my parents, spouses, children, and two best friends.
We never had to pay for a hotel while working; otherwise, with all the layovers, we would practically lose money.
Three to five stars were always the range for my hotels. Additionally, if there was a lengthy layover, the hotel had to be ᴄʟᴏsᴇ to restaurants and public transportation in the city’s center.
I could create a schedule that suited my requirements. Some prefer to work short shifts and return to their families every night, while others enjoy taking long overseas flights with hotel layovers.
Most flight attendants are able to take as many vacation days as they require each month. In the airline profession, maternity leave is wonderful. There is a certain amount of paid time off, but there is no cap on the amount of unpaid time you can take.
There are even adorable maternity uniforms, and flight attendants are permitted to fly for up to seven months into their pregnancies.
There is no retirement age, which is another benefit. You are eligible for another year as long as you can complete all of your responsibilities and succeed in the yearly training.
Typically, flight attendants remain in their positions for as long as they physically can because the pay increases annually. You might expect to earn a respectable salary if you work for the company for 30 to 50 years.
