Despite being one of the most recognizable careers in the world, there has been a shortage of certified pilots in recent years. As a result, airlines are being forced to look for fresh employment prospects.
SmartLynx Airlines has chosen a course where the company educates pilots to operate Airbus A320-type aircraft under its own training program. After graduating from pilot school, Tomas Samick, Director of the SmartLynx Airlines Training Centre, discusses job options in the Baltic States.
The Airbus A320 is a base model for the top narrowbody aircraft in the world. They might not be as glitzy as their more imposing and larger A380 brethren. But most fleets throughout the world rely on them as reliable workhorses. For many of us, it is very likely that the majority of our flights will be on an A320 when we travel by air. They are the mainstays of the industry, regardless of your connection with them.
Airbus A320 landing in the dark. On the undercarriage of the nose, the underside of the wings ᴄʟᴏsᴇ to the fuselage, and the tips of the wings, landing lights may be seen. The pilots can use these lights to help them land and take off. The Moon is in the top right.
The A320 was the first aircraft with a thin body that made significant use of composite materials. In fact, these materials make up the majority of the CASA-made tail. In order to create soᴍᴇᴛʜing stronger and frequently lighter than any of the original components alone, composite materials combine multiple distinct types of materials.
Airbus made the decision to build a bigger cabin than their rivals in order to make the A320 more appealing to passengers and, consequently, carriers. Compared to the Boeing 737’s outer cabin diameter of 3.8 meters (12 feet 4 inches) and the Boeing 717’s outside cabin diameter of 3.34 meters (12 feet 11.5 inches), the Airbus A320 performs admirably (10 feet 11.6 inches). In order to speed up luggage loading and unloading and contribute to speedy turnaround times at airports, they also made the cargo door larger.
